Flipper Teeth — from $319

A flipper tooth is the small removable piece that puts a tooth back in the gap. It leans on the teeth beside it, so it holds one, two or three in a row, front or back. Three materials, cut from your own mold in Florida, from $319 an arch.

Three flippers, priced by material

FlipperPriceMaterialBuilt inBest for
Acrylic flipper$319Rigid acrylic6 to 10 business daysThe least money to close a gap
Semi-flex flipper$349Milled semi-flex6 to 10 business daysHolding its shape day in and day out
Flexible flipper$399 to $699Soft nylon6 to 10 business daysHiding best at the front, no metal

The lower number is one arch and the higher number covers both. Every price already holds the mold kit, the shade wheel, postage in both directions and 30 days of adjustments.

Pay in 4 with Klarna or Afterpay at checkout when the order qualifies, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted on all three. How HSA and FSA payment works.

Rush manufacturing cuts the bench time to 3 to 4 business days for $150, and rush delivery runs $45 to $135 on top. Count the kit going out and the molds coming back as well, and a technician will say straight out whether a date is reachable before you pay for the speed.

What a dental flipper actually is

A removable plate with one, two or three replacement teeth set into it. It rests on the gum and holds with small clasps hooked over the teeth standing beside the gap. Nothing is filed down and nothing is glued, so it goes in and comes out whenever you want.

It is temporary by design, and that is not a weakness dressed up as a feature. It is the whole reason a replacement tooth here costs $319 instead of the four figures an implant carries.

Which of the three fits your gap

Front tooth and worried about it showing, the flexible hides best. Wearing it day in and day out rather than for one season, the semi-flex is milled to hold its shape. Bridging a gap until something permanent is ready, the acrylic does it for the least money.

What the same tooth costs in a chair

Three levels sit on this market. A drugstore thermoplastic kit is $30 at Walmart, and white label plates on Amazon run $88 to $209. A dental office bills the appointments first and the plate on top of them.

Ours opens at $319, and that number already holds the mold kit, the shade wheel and the postage in both directions. A marketplace listing holds none of the three.

Eating, talking and the first week

Soft food from the first day, and out it comes for steak, nuts, apples, hard candy and anything sticky. A flipper is built to fill a gap and to look right, not to take the load a molar takes.

Speech takes a few days to settle. Reading out loud for ten minutes a day is the fastest way through it, and most people stop hearing any difference inside the week.

Chew on both sides rather than favouring one, and cut the first few meals small. Sore spots in that first week are ordinary, and the 30 day fit window is exactly what they are there for.

How long it lasts, by material

Every flipper here is temporary by design, so the honest measure is the warranty rather than a number of years. 60 days covers the build itself and a remake for the same reason costs nothing.

Between the three, acrylic is the shortest horizon and the lowest price. The semi-flex is milled from a solid blank, which is why it holds its shape longest of the three. The flexible sits softest against the gum and hides best at the front.

Your mold stays on file for two years, so a replacement usually needs no second kit from you at all.

What a flipper will not do

  • It does not chew hard food, so steak, nuts and hard candy come off the menu while it is in
  • It does not replace an implant or a bridge, it holds the gap while you decide
  • It is not a night guard, and sleeping in one to stop grinding wears it flat
  • It does not hold past three teeth in a row, or a gap at the very end of the row

Four or more teeth gone on the same arch and the case belongs on the partial denture page, where the plate is wide enough to stay put. Grinding at night is the night guard page.

A gap you are holding open while an implant heals is often better served by an Essix retainer with a tooth set into it.

Shade comes off a 16 shade wheel you hold against your own teeth, and the photos you send decide the shape. Pick the shade standing beside your own teeth rather than the whitest one on the wheel.

If it still reads wrong when the box lands, the remake is free.

Cleaning, and what breaks an acrylic plate

Four things break a plate. Dropping it on tile or into a steel sink, boiling water, a hard bristled brush and household bleach. None of the four is covered, because none of them is a fault in the build.

Rinse it after meals, brush it gently with a soft brush and no toothpaste, and keep it in water while it is out of your mouth. The cleaning foam is $24.99, the UV case is $29.99 and the ultrasonic bath is $54.99. The rest of the routine is on care and use.

The mold you take at your own table

  1. The mold kit is $49.99 and it reaches you by USPS in 3 days or FedEx overnight.
  2. You take the impressions at home, send the photos we ask for, and mail the trays back with the prepaid label.
  3. A technician reads the mold and the flipper is cut, shaded and shipped.

If a mold comes back short we say what went wrong with it rather than leaving you to guess. A fresh kit is $40, a fresh set of putty on its own is $25, and the step by step sits on the impression page.

Teeth lost later do not mean starting over. Upgrading a flipper to a partial is $200 from the mold we already hold.

Thirty days on fit, sixty on the build

  • 60 days of manufacturer warranty, counted from the day the box arrives
  • 30 days on fit, with unlimited adjustments
  • If adjusting does not settle it, we remake it, and if the same problem comes back a technician reads the case by hand
It does not cover a piece that was dropped or lost, wear from neglect, a shade you picked yourself and changed your mind about, or work another lab has touched. The whole of it is on the warranty page.

Questions people ask before they order

How much does a 1 tooth flipper cost

$319 an arch here in acrylic, $349 in semi-flex and $399 in flexible nylon.

Can you eat with flipper in

Soft food yes, hard and sticky food no. Take it out for steak, nuts, apples and chewy sweets, and rinse it before it goes back in.

How long will a flipper tooth last

It is temporary by design, so the warranty is the honest measure. 60 days covers the build, 30 days covers the fit, and a remake for the same reason costs nothing.

Can you fix a flipper tooth

Do not file it or glue it yourself, that ends the cover. Send photos and the order number inside 30 days and the adjustment or the remake runs on our side.

Can you sleep with a flipper tooth in your mouth

Take it out at night. The gum wants the hours without pressure on it and the plate wants a soak in the case that ships with it.

What not to do with a flipper tooth

Do not chew hard food with it, do not drop it on tile, do not put it in boiling water, and do not clean it with bleach or a hard brush. Those four account for most of the breakages we see.

Which teeth cannot be replaced

A flipper needs your own teeth standing on both sides of the gap. A gap at the very end of the row, or four and more teeth gone in one stretch, belongs on the partial denture page.

Can you wear a dental flipper all day

Yes, through the day is how it is meant to be worn. Out at night, out for a hard meal, and rinsed before it goes back in.
