Are night guards HSA and FSA eligible?

Yes in most plans. Prices, the IRS rule and the December 31 FSA deadline

Yes, in most plans. A custom night guard that protects your teeth from grinding counts as dental care.

Ours start at $119 an arch, and your HSA or FSA card works at checkout like any other card. Your plan administrator makes the final call.

What IRS Publication 502 says

Publication 502 counts what you pay to prevent and relieve dental disease, and it names dentures and artificial teeth.

It does not name night guards. Plan lists fill that gap: HSA Store and FSA Store both list dental night guards as eligible.

Cosmetic work sits outside every plan. A guard for worn teeth is dental care, a whitening tray is not.

Soft custom night guard in a gloved hand

Every custom night guard is pressed on a model of your own teeth. The impression kit sits on the same receipt.

Spend your FSA by December 31

In most plans FSA money expires on December 31. Some plans carry up to $680 into next year, others give a grace period into March.

HSA money never expires.

We make your guard in 2 to 3 business days after your impressions reach us. Door to door it takes 6 to 10 business days, or 3 to 4 with Rush for $150.

Order in early December and the guard and the receipt arrive before the year ends.

Pay with an HSA or FSA card

  1. Add the night guard to your cart.
  2. Enter your HSA or FSA card at checkout.
  3. Keep the itemized receipt we email you.

One card per order. If it is declined, pay with a regular card and ask your plan to reimburse you.

Some plans ask for a letter of medical necessity for a night guard. Your administrator sends the form if so. More on HSA and FSA payment.

Night guard HSA and FSA questions

Is a mouth guard FSA eligible

A night guard for grinding usually is, since plans treat it as dental care. A sports mouth guard is a different product, and plans decide it case by case.

Are retainers HSA and FSA eligible

Usually yes. A retainer keeps teeth in place after braces or an extraction, which plans count as dental care. An Essix retainer is $139 an arch, $239 with a tooth.

Can I use my HSA for a night guard ordered online

Yes. The card works at our checkout the same as at a dental office, and the itemized receipt shows what you bought, the date and the amount.

Is the impression kit eligible too

The kit is part of making your night guard, so it sits on the same order and the same receipt.

Do you bill my dental insurance

No. We don't bill insurance, so the price you see is the price you pay. HSA and FSA cards work at checkout.
