$19.99 for two tubes
The denture adhesive cream we recommend for the appliances we build. It steadies a full denture or a partial through a meal and rinses off at night with warm water.
- Three short strips a day, not a full line around the plate
- Safe on acrylic and on flexible nylon alike
- Two tubes to an order, so one lives in the drawer
An adhesive is a steadying hand. It is not a cure for a loose fit, and it is not a repair.
What it is for and what it is not for
A well made arch holds by suction and by the shape of your own ridge. Adhesive adds confidence on the days that ask for it: a long dinner, a speech, a wedding, the front row at church. What it must never become is the thing holding the appliance in. An arch that slips without cream and holds with it is an arch that has changed shape, or a gum that has, and both are fixed by adjusting rather than by a thicker layer. Cream over a loose plate rubs the gum underneath, and a rubbed gum takes longer to settle than the fit does.
How to use it
- Rinse the appliance and dry it, and dry your gums too.
- Three short strips along the ridge that meets the gum, never on the clasps.
- Seat it, bite down and hold for about ten seconds.
At the end of the day
- Warm water and a soft brush take the cream off the appliance
- A warm rinse and a soft cloth take it off the gums
- Hot water never touches an appliance, with cream on it or without
Questions we hear about denture adhesive
Which denture adhesive is best
Between the big brands the difference is small, and technique decides far more than the tube does. We stock one cream and it is the one we tell our own customers to use: three short strips, on a dry appliance, less than the picture on the box shows.
How to apply it to a partial denture
Dry the partial and dry your gums. Put three short strips along the ridge that meets the gum, never on the clasps and never on the teeth. Seat it, bite down and hold for about ten seconds.
Can I use adhesive on a flipper
A flipper is meant to sit on its own. A thin strip is fine on a long day, but a flipper that needs adhesive every day is a flipper that needs adjusting, and adjustments are free for 30 days from delivery.
Using too much of it
More adhesive does not hold better. It squeezes out at the edge, it tastes of itself and it lifts the plate so the bite sits high. Start with less than you think and add only if the day asks for it.
Getting it off at night
Warm water and a soft brush on the appliance, a warm rinse and a soft cloth on the gums. Never hot water on the appliance, because heat is the fastest way to lose a fit you paid for. The foam does the rest.
How long two tubes last
On three short strips a day, most people get a month or more out of a tube, so a pack of two covers a season.
It still slips with adhesive on
Then the fit is the problem and the adhesive was only hiding it. Write to us instead of reaching for more cream, because a loose arch rubs and a rubbed gum takes longer to settle than the fit does.
Ordering it on its own
Yes. It is not part of an appliance order and it does not need one.
