What actually makes a denture premium

What makes a partial denture premium comes down to three things, the base material, how many teeth it replaces, and whether metal shows when you talk. Cast metal is the strongest build we make, flexible hides the clasps, and acrylic is the budget entry point.

None of the three is wrong, they just answer different priorities, and the price difference between them is smaller than most people expect.

Three builds, one lab

BuildPriceBest for
Acrylic partial$469 to $619Budget entry, up to six teeth, thin wire clasps
Flexible partial$549 to $1049No visible metal, two to eight teeth
Cast metal partial$749 to $1498Thinnest against the tongue, longest lasting

Both arches together cost less per arch than ordering them separately, which matters if you are missing teeth on the top and bottom at the same time.

What actually changes between the builds

Acrylic uses a pink base with thin wire clasps holding onto your natural teeth, and it is the fastest to get used to for most first time wearers. Flexible swaps the wire clasps for a soft, gum colored base that flexes with your bite, so nothing metal shows when you smile. Cast metal replaces the acrylic base with a milled frame, which is thinner, stronger, and the reason it costs more.

Upgrading after the fact

Some people order acrylic first to keep the cost low, then decide later that a flexible or cast metal build suits them better. An upgrade to a partial denture build reuses the impressions already on file, so you are not paying to redo the whole process, just the difference in materials and lab time.

How the four week build works

  1. The impression kit ships by USPS in 3 days or FedEx overnight.
  2. You take upper and lower impressions at home and mail them back.
  3. A technician builds your chosen material around a plaster model of your bite.
  4. The finished denture arrives 14 to 28 days after your impressions pass, made in the USA.

Questions people actually ask

What makes cast metal the strongest partial denture

The frame is milled instead of poured, so it can be built thinner while staying rigid. That thinness is also why it feels less bulky against the tongue than acrylic.

Can I upgrade from acrylic to a better build later

Yes. An upgrade to a partial denture build is $200 on top of what you already paid, using the impressions on file rather than starting over.

Is a premium denture build HSA or FSA eligible

Dentures are generally accepted as a qualified medical expense under most plans. Your plan administrator makes the final determination for your specific plan.

How long does each material actually last

Acrylic wears fastest, two to three years of daily use. Flexible sits in the middle. Cast metal holds up longest, often five years or more with routine cleaning.
